Accuracy Standards & Quantification

The common criteria used to evaluate the accuracy of a dataset or system and Phoenix LiDAR's standardized post processing methods for making statements about data quality.

When evaluating accuracy it is essential to have a clear understanding of what the metric is representing, how it was measured, and what factors contribute to its achievement. To understand what is meant by the term “accuracy” we break it down into 3 categories: Precision (Intraswath), Relative Accuracy (Interswath), and Absolute Accuracy.

Contributing Factors

To obtain the most useful insight from a statement about any of the 3 types of measurements we should explore the factors that impact them.
