Backpack Telescoping Boom

The LiDAR backpack can be extended upwards to increase the LiDAR sensors ability to see over objects or features. This can be done in real-time during acquisition and does not require the operator to power the sensor down prior to extending the boom,

  • Raising the Boom requires loosening the two friction lock knobs located on the back and front of the backpack boom. See images below as reference.

  • Once the boom is fully extended, rotate the friction knobs clockwise to lock the boom into place. No other changes to the sensor need to be made.

  • The boom is designed to not affect Rover settings found in SE. you will not need to remeasure lever arms between the IMU and GNSS receivers.
